Dear WAA Members:

The Web Analytics Association was founded in 2004 and opened to general membership in February 2005. As we head into our 2008-2009 year, I am truly impressed at what the WAA has accomplished.

• We stand at over 1,700 members
• We have over 35 corporate members
• We have created a world-wide community
• We have developed an advanced education curriculum
• We have set forth standard definitions for a new industry
• We have embraced the challenge of measuring social media
• We have researched ourselves to determine who we are as a group
• We have plumbed the depths of measuring success for public sector websites

And we have accepted the challenge of shifting our focus on web analytics to being the global champion for the online marketing analytics profession. Our goal is to make online marketing analytics an integral part of the business decision process.

I want to thank the 2007 Board of Directors with a special tip of the hat to Richard Foley who so capably held the reigns as President and to Shubhra Srivastava who helped guide the Education Committee to new and dizzying heights. The contribution of these two individuals has been remarkable.

I am very pleased to welcome back Avinash Kaushik and April Wilson. It is also my distinct pleasure to greet three new members of the Board of Directors:

• Vicky Brock, our very own Highland Analytics Goddess
• June Dershewitz, Analytics Aficionadess and Community Activist
• Alex Langshur, Master of Non-Commerce and Content Driven Metrics

The majority of my unabashed and astonished gratitude is directed at over 300 volunteers who have donated untold hours to specific committee tasks. You all amaze me. You people rock.

And finally, thanks to all WAA Members for inviting me back to work on the Board of Directors. I promise to continue providing leadership, vision and enthusiasm to earn the right to represent this organization. I'm counting on you to let me know how the WAA can help you in your job and with your career.
